Guys finally got the towing hitch recall done at local stealership, now I am looking for trailer wiring options. I am looking for something that will be snap on and doesn't need any cutting splicing etc there are too many options on flee bay, so looking for some feedback and directions here. The prices vary between 40-150 bucks so any help to narrow the options is welcome. Thanks :JEEPIN:

Salvage yard might be your best bet, find one off a gasser. The OE Mopar harnesses are high quality, no cutting and splicing required. They are no longer available new.

I am hesitant to get my CRD inspected for the recall, I have a Reese hitch that does have sharp edges, if they replace with the OEM one and there is an accident, the hitch having "Not for towing" on it may cause some issues with insurance or worse.

I emailed Chrysler and they confirmed the recall hitch is NOT for towing. My current hitch was sold for towing.

Catch 22 but from a liability concern for ME I can't risk them putting the OEM recall unit on.

I put in the OEM 7 pin harness and its a high quality kit, but I believe it causes battery drain issues due to the solenoid in the trunk always being activated due to it being powered by the front power outlet. Since the outlet is always on in the 05-06 libertys the trailer wiring doesnt turn off with the key. I have to unplug the fuse for my front outlet until i wire in a switch.
