Hi all please advice for my CRD OME 790 or 927 springs. Finally getting round to doing some mods? I don't plan fitting a heavy ARB bumper or winch. I have both 790 and 927 I will be selling the ones I don't fit. Will 790 make the ride too hard? Andrew

My advice is to always thing "what if", meaning you don't plan for an ARB bumper now but may plan later. It happened to me too many times... I'd go with heavy duty. As I don't know the difference in comfort between them, I can say that the tires matter a lot, so if you like the comfort, I wouldn't get offroad tires.

the 927's are rated less then your stock front coils, the 790's are made for the CRD so go with those.

Go with the 790 springs on the front. I made that mistake, the 927 springs start to sag in less than a year.
790 spring in the front and a 248 (i think) the heavy duty rear are pretty level front and rear, for a crd.
I could not tell any ride difference between 927 and 790, but I am no expert in that either.

Thanks guys today I got out the spring compressors and managed to compress the 790's on to the new struts with new top mounts and isolators top and bottom. Man they took some compressing is that little nut on the top of the damper strong enough :?:

Just treat it like a gun, dont point it at yourself or anyone/thing you dont plan on shooting.

I went to 4 shops before I finally found one (truck shop) that had a spring compressor with big enough balls to compress the 790s.

Had to use 4 spring compressors plus 2 carpenters sash clamps to pull top mount down enough to get the nut on :) Completed the install sits now 21.1/2" all round, that's plus 2.1/2" just what I was told. Surprised how soft the ride is, so glad I didn't fit the 927's. Next job wheels and tyres when funds allow :JEEPIN:

This.

Their catalog is a bit misleading IMO, but you definitely want the 790s, even with a stock bumper.

Even with the OME 790 I find it a bit on the soft side, but they do seem to soak up the rough stuff. :JEEPIN:
