This is the first I've had all the weight out of the back of my jeep in awhile.
My poor tires! :ROTFL: :JEEPIN:

Dang, Ted, that situation is enough to make Mother Theresa cuss...

Hopefully you get it all squared away - but if you need another shop I know a good one in Massillon. Not exactly around the corner but certainly closer than Columbiana or Parma. All they do is differentials - HD trucks, drag cars, street rods and off-road vehicles. Kinda tucked away but they do good work.

Change of subject... Are we still on for June 27 down south? My buddy's son's graduation is that Sunday the 28th so he's thinking this trip will be a fun graduation gift of sorts for him. We're thinking of going down Thursday and camping till everyone arrives Saturday. Can anyone recommend a campground nearby?

Bob

Tar Hollow would be good and then a few places around Old Mans Cave area but they all fill up with Akronites every weekend err I mean nice folks from larger cities .....
But yes still on as far as I know
Got to tear mine down before then, new left side CV, 3rd in 214,000 miles
rebuild CV on Transfer case side of the front driveshaft 3rd time
Lowering it back down some
find rear diff since I just don't trust it any longer :banghead: but may have found one close by :pepper:
( reason ) 2 bolts in stock location holding the tri-link bracket on, 3rd bolt goes clear through the housing ( drilled clear through, testing parts are hard on bolts and brackets :ROTFL: )

Perfect! Thanks guys :CAMPING:

Tom, did you have to drill out that third bolt because of cross threading? Every time I have to thread those bolts in I'm paranoid I'm going to cross thread them

Nope, broke two of them off , stock bolts both top ones
hard launches ...............was testing one part ( its still good to go ) but stock parts didn't hold up
One bolt got drilled out and helicore installed in it , other one couldn't get drilled out right, got ticked and finally just got a smaller hole all the way through
Diff trashed anyways, gears making some noise, pulling the axles out, diff cover off and rest goes to that great testing ground in the sky :JEEPIN: :ROTFL:

That's a rough looking wreck

Sure good to see how well the Libby's cabin held up though - roof and pillars still intact and doors stayed shut. Always been impressed how well the Libertys do in crashes - just pray I never have first-hand experience with one.

KJ/KK suspension is good for maybe 50,000, mine was shot at 20,000 and switched out to OMEs at first

Thats great news, will be good to see it back on the road again.
Trying to decide what to do with mine
If I can find another low mileage 02-05 then I may switch everything over from mine to it and then small lift on mine for my son when he gets here
At 215,000 small oil leaks, smokes just a little on start up now, and a few other things
OR start at the front, new radiator, engine, transmission, transfer case , diffs etc and go another 200,000 plus

Hope everyone had a safe Holiday
Uneventful here, invited to a party at the neighbors, took a nap slept through it pretty much, oh well
Call from Mom, somethings wrong with Stepdads mower he's chopping/ scalping the yard
Go down, he has bend both blades on his rider to the point they are cutting 2 inches below where they should be.
He doesn't think he hit anything  of course he turns the hearing aids off when he mows so who knows what he hit
Front yard is now dirt, no grass hardly :banghead:
I mow the back 5 acres ( used to be part of the horse pasture that we keep mowed ) so at least the " park " looks good
Other than that getting things ready for people coming
Front driveshaft is out of mine for the time being , new rear CV needed , vibrated bad at 85 , :JEEPIN:
