Do I need to add biocide to anything but B-100 or does the blend of petro-diesel take care of it?

I can only speak from experience, I buy B100/B99 in bulk and store it in between fill-ups. I have once had an "algal bloom" in B100, but not B99. Surely it depends on what it is blended with - but I imagine a dino/bio diesel blend wouldn't grow anything.

YMMV... I'll be interested to see other posts on the topic

I have seen algae in B50, the other 50 being regular #2 petrodiesel.

If you get any water in the mix, biocide would be a good idea. And from talking to a guy whose business is rebuilding fuel injection units, water in yer diesel fuel has become a major issue since the hurricanes last fall made such a mess of petroleum distribution systems. He says he's never before seen so many injectors damaged by water.

I, too, make bulk buys and store both B100 and B50 in 55 gallon drums for several months. I've started adding biocide in low doses just to prevent problems.

You will get the "growing problem" in bot bio and regular petro diesel. I always add a little boicide evry other tank in winter and every tank in summer. That is over kill on my part, but if you ever have a bloom you will be in for a real experience and a lot of work if you do the clean up yourself. And really big bucks if you pay for the cclean up.
