Selling the liberty and getting an SRT8. Selling off all my parts. I returned my liberty's tune back to stock and listed the hypertech on Craig's list. A guy came along in a dodge 1500. Wanted to make sure it worked before he just drove off.

It kept saying not for this vehicle on the programmer even though I set it back to factory settings. So I did it again in front of him. Same thing. Shouldn't it automatically wipe my VIN or was his truck just not pairing with it?

You need to load the right cal file for the truck/engine from a computer. If he has the 3.7L, it should work. Any other engine and it will need to be updated.
