Hello all,

It is time for a timing belt replacement for my CRD and I have bought the full kit from IDParts. But my mechanic says that front crankshaft seal and two seals for camshaft also needed for the job. I could not find any confirmation about that. Could you guys please confirm if replacement of those seals is truly needed and indeed part of the timing belt job? Thank you.

No, these seals would not normally be changed with the TB .

...but the seals are only a few bucks each and are there ready to pop out when he removes the cam sprockets. He should be able to replace them for an additional 10 minutes labour so probably no harm in doing so.
