Today's progress ended at getting all the holes drilled prefect.

In three days times I hope to have at a minimum, the jig complete, and have the faceplate welded to the diff.

Beginning of December I hope to start road trials, and beginning of next year I will have hopes to sell some kits. Prices are still fluid, but I imagine for a complete ready to go unit with 3.73 gears installed, it will be well below the 750 dollar mark.

I'm all over this!
Any idea what shipping to 83713 will be? I know businesses pay like 1/4 what the rest of us pay...

You only get a discount if you ship hundreds of packages a week.

I am not operating under any business yet.

Just a guy with a billion brilliant ideas.

Before I install this in my KJ, I will take it to a UPS/Fadex and get it weighed and measured that way I can instantly get shipping quotes.

December may have been an over estimation.

Alternatively, I could sell individual pieces, so you guys can build your own.

Probably want to ship it at a freight shipper, or whatever they're called. Hmm, two pallets? I'm guessing shipping might be a deal killer, I can't even ship car doors for less than $400, but I need to get over to Old Dominion and see what they can do. I'm about to go give all of my large parts that I don't need to the junkyard because they aren't selling locally... If you can get someone who has a business to ship it for you, now that would be amazing.

I could probably get it in a 2x1x1 crate.

Now who said FCAW didn't produce beautiful welds???

ER70-s6.. I chose FCAW for its deep penetration, and heavy bead.

Switching the welder over only took two minutes. I was going to stick weld it, but it turns out the housing is cast steel. Steel, yes, but still cast.

Got me some decent fusion and no cracks. Another job well done.

Tomorrow I try out my PROCUt45 and make the jig. I'm so excited.

nice work, I want to go to weld school, but I don't want to drive 1.5 hours to get there when I move back to the mountains.

I shipped a complete D30A via fedex(normal ground service) for like $30 when I sold my D30A.A same sized steel version should be less then $50/$60.

Unfortunately, shipping rates has went up drastically. Even rear springs are running $21-$25 to ship. When I recently shipped a d30a, it was close to $60

Thanks for posting those costs fellas, even $60 is not terrible. I was afraid of the costs I've seen on doors.

Unless it saves a fortune in shipping, I'd prefer to have a fully assembled one. Just so you know what the demand is like....

We are coming around the bend. Soon I will be bolt in ready!!

If you consider the current exchange rate,

I was able to purchase a plasma cutter, two fully width axles, a 220v mig welder, and pay for custom machining for way less than an "off the shelf" ready to go steel diff from the only available commercial source..

Not knocking anybody or their business, just saying it pays to DIY

Thanks man!

I have to admit, these last couple of days, I've done some pretty hasty things...

I tell ya tho, plasma cutting makes life SOOOO much easier. It's insane how fast I can cut a piece of steel and weld it together.

I bought a pro point (razor weld) pro cut 45:: I'd say it walks with the big dogs.

The amount of slag, if your amps and air is good and dry, then angle the tip just a hair in the direction its going and speed up just a hair. My plasma will cut 1/2" as fast as I can drag it. Sooo much better than a torch
