I think the back up lamps in my '06 Liberty are pretty weak, and would like to improve them. I've seen LED bulbs that replace the factory bulbs. Has anybody tried these? Could they cause any problems/not work/overload the circuit?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Tahnks KJ/Toy. It looks like they offer two options, a regular LED and a CAN BUS. Whcih did you get, did it plug right in and was it a lot brighter?

I tried direct replacement LED bulbs and was disappointed.. Some flush mount oval LEDs or Led pods are awesome though. You'll have to figure out mounting and do some wiring but well worth it IMO. This is the wiring diagram I used so they come on automatically and I can turn them on anytime, including while driving.

I went overkill...just a bit :JEEPIN:
7.5" flood pattern bar mounted on the hitch above the receiver so it is protected. Have an amber lens for it as well that I use in dusty/snowy conditions for visibility. It is not wired into my reverse lights but flicking the switch is easy enough. Plenty of visibility out the back window even with the privacy glass.

I have direct replacement led in all of my lamp locations in my '02 Sport and they are bright. I get people stopping me all the time asking about it. I also have led headlamps which are super bright and I never have to use my high beams. Now I want to find some led fog/off road lights to install on my bullybar (which came with the Jeep) as there are conveniently located mounting holes for them.

AtH..

Mind if I use your schematic? I am terrible with wiring, I have a hard time getting past theory when it involves relays.

By your drawing, do you figure the exact same setup could be used to install automatic front light bars that come on with the fogs?

I used these: https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinf ... ab/Reviews
They're really easy to install and honestly it took me less than a half hour from start to finish. I didn't have to remove the headlamp assembly either. It took me another 20 or so minutes to fine tune them and even though I had read horror stories about them not being durable on rough roads they've been constant and I haven't had any issues yet.
