I have done a bit of searching on the Dorman site and others and having a hard time finding a new trans dip stick for my Auto CRD. Does anyone have any words of wisdom? I'm not the best internet searcher so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ken

I wonder if that's the same part that came with the CRD or if it's been revised? The dipstick that came with the CRD is useless!

It is the same dipstick for the gas as the diesel. The major difference is on the Diesel it's a bit too long, and when the bottom touches the pan, and our engine clanks and rattles like we love for it to do, the transmission dipstick pops out.

This can be remedied in a number of ways, the cheapest and simplest is to remove the dipstick, put a 30 degree bend in the center with your bare hands, then put it back into the tube. It won't come out any more.

I've seen some shave the end, others zip tie it in place, whatever floats your boat.

My issue with it being too long is that I can't accurately tell what the fluid level is.

Do I sense a new mod manifesting?

Or maybe Sasquatch will create a better version that we can guarantee does accurately measure the trans fluid/level?

:D
