Just bought a 2006 Liberty with the CRD engine that had jumped time. It has 150k miles on it, 1 owner and is as clean as a pin. I've read about the rocker arm feature that breaks when this happens. My question is, do they ever damage anything else, like pistons? I bought this thing cheap so I can afford to fix it if it's not too serious. I'm going to order the tools to pin the engine soon.

Check out the CRD LoveThatTorque sub-forum.
You will find everything you need there.
And read the Noob guide.

Usually its only the rockers that break, but sometimes valves do get bent or broken.
A broken valve is pretty catastrophic. Would require a new piston, cylinder head, and possibly several other things.
Once you pull the injectors, carefully inspect the tips of each one. If one of them looks mashed or damaged you can be pretty sure that a valve has broken.
Also pull all the glow plugs. If any of them have broken tips, thats a good reason to pull the head for inspection.

Thanks for the reply! I'm going to order the timing pin kit and get started on it. I'm hoping for the best and will post back my results.
