Welcome to the group. Please fill in your profile information so we know what city you are in - there are many helpful members here who can offer assistance, and I happen to be the traveling mechanic for these vehicles.

Things to look for: Please read the NOOB guide, it is full of great information that can make your ownership of the CRD a happy time.
Has the timing belt been replaced? If you don't have an ugly yellow sticker under the hood or a receipt for the work, then you cannot trust that it has been. It has a belt. (many dealers tell people that it has a chain!) and that must be replaced every 100k miles OR 6 YEARS and every single CRD is WAY overdue on age if the belt has never been replaced.

How many miles on the CRD? This can also help us help you with reliability mods, as certain things start to become an issue as the miles creep up.

Feel free to ask any questions, and someone will be around with the answers. You can also search, but the search function isn't always the best.
