Hey everyone, I know we all love pics of KJ's doing they're stuff (or at least trying too :P!) so I thought i'd share with you my latest mods to my 06 CRD.

I've got the OME lift with 927's in the front & 948's in the rear.
Check out the whole thread in AJOR to see exactly what I did, but here's the shortcut to the pics.

http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/sho ... post662494

The rear flex in unbelieveably good. It now properly "Walks" through the big ruts and over obsticals that I couldnt do (without a fuss) before.
The sussy does not make ANY NOISES like many superflexy lift kits out there which i am happy about. There's nothing more annoying than a clunky klanky ride right people ?

I've got the ARB rear locker organised for a July install, cant wait.

Rear shocks are 660mm extended & 395mm compressed to be exact. Besides awesome travel, they have fixed the soft & spongy ride that the normal OME shocks give the KJ. It used to nose dive quite bad on firm braking, but now does not. The ride cirtainly feels more stable than before.

they work fine for me (so far I guess) but remember I havent got any extra weight on the front yet - no bar, no winch (not that i'm getting a winch, but i am getting a front Bar). With the Top Strut Spacer I made in 8mm plate, it all comes together nicely.

My ome kit does not flex NEAR that good. Will the rear flex more with the sway bar out? The OME shocks are not even 1/2in longer than the stock shocks, so how the heck are you getting the much flex?

The rear wil always flex more freely without the swaybar, that goes for the front too, but your max extended length of the shock determines how much wheel travel you will have.

As it says in the thread (if you read it  ), I replaced the REAR OME shocks that came with the normal OME lift (585mm extended) with DIFFERENT OME shocks (from another make of 4x4). They are 660mm extended & 396 compressed. So that's 75mm or 3" of EXTRA wheel travel that before. Genuine rear shocks are 560mm extended to be exact.

That "Poo" as you say, is the whole point of this thread. Its says to read what i've done then check out the pics, therefor you wont have to waste time in your "oh so busy" day asking me questions that you could have answered youself.
BTW, OME shocks measure exactly 25mm more than the Genuine ones, so i'm not sure who told you that they are 1/2" longer? Maybe you didnt read someone elses' post correctly.

Mutt, thanks for the comments, it almost looks as tough as yours!! :P

Flexy! I like it a lot man, nice work. I don't think I've seen any other KJ setup (other than an SFA) that offers that much flex up front. What other 4X4 were the rear shocks from? Let us know how the setup holds up over the long run, as far as durability and stuff goes. I think I may consider running this setup rather than a Frankenlift if I can ever get the funds scraped together.

OK, here's info for the OME rear SUPER LONG travel shocks.

They are for the Nissan Patrol GU WAGON REAR, but the COMFORT option.
The physical size of the eye (mounts) are PERFECT, the yellow poly bushes that come with them are PERFECT, the only thing you have to do is get 4 x crush tubes (sleeves) & hand press them in. You dont need a proper press, a bench vice will do.
The part no# for the shocks is N29C
The Zinc plated crush tubes measurements are:
46mm x 21mm x 12mm (X 2) these are for the UPPER Mount
42mm x 21mm x 12mm (X 2) " " " " " LOWER Mount

The size of these crush tubes should give enough crush on the bush for a good fit, if you wheel hard, i'd go 22mm for the OD of the tube for more crush.

I run OME 948's in the rear with the OME TJ Wrangler rear spacer. The hole in the middle of the spacer is 65mm for the TJ, but you need to take it to 90mm for the KJ. Trying to cut this stuff is like trying to cut a frozen pineapple ring with a piece of fishing line...!! lol!! It takes a while....

Now, like i'e said before, the spring gets lose on full flex, but its NEVER coming out. I put the KJ through its paces at a pretty challenging 4x4 park yesterday & it didnt miss a beat. There is NO Clanking noises commonly associated with home job super long travel 4x4 mods, nor did it hit the foot valve in the shocks - which beings me to the MOST IMPORTANT POINT OF THIS INSTALL if your' going to perform it.

YOU HAVE TO GET MACHINED UP, 2 X ALUMINIUM 35mm SPACERS FOR THE REAR & INSTALL THEM. If you dont, you'll DEFINATELY smash the footvalve of the shock rendering it useless - not to mention, you could potentially bend/break the actual shock mount, UPPER & LOWER.
See my Pics for DETAILED viewing.
