Interesting. Either I've been under or a rock or they have kept it pretty quiet. I wasn't aware of this

I think thats the same motor thats supposed to be in the remodeled cruze as well. I wonder if they are based on the same platforms.

That 2.0 Turbo is going to be a brute though. It makes 258 ft-lbs at just 1700 rpm in the malibu.

Apparently it's and Opel engine.

Personally, I don't like that it's FWD. Although I'm sure some type of AWD will be an option.

Isn't Opel part of gm?

that is not a diesel , though ?

I have 2015 Cruze diesel , wife and me love it , esp with a tune , but will trade up to a suv if it shows up next year

also looking at the colorado diesel for a truck and gde is working on a turn for it

No the 2.0T is not but I bet it drives like one being DI and making that much torque that low.

I've driven the Colorado duramax and its really nice. Power was very similar to my jeep with the GDE hot tune but the transmission is lightyears better. I would have traded in my F150 on one by now if the prices werent so ridiculous. Unfortunately the dealers are not budging off of MSRP where I am, so you are basically looking at a $40k entry price on one. Not worth it when i got 22% off of my F150.

The V6's are seeing 5-6k off locally so a fully loaded Canyon SLT V6 is low-mid 30's. I'd need to see a similar discount on the diesel to jump.

Also, next year they are releasing them with an 8 speed transmission so there is no point in even getting one at this point.

Only the 6 cylinder colorado is getting the 8 speed transmission. Next year's diesel transmission is supposed to stay the same.
