Hi There, thanks in advance for your help. I am a first time jeep owner. Occasionally my kk 2009 cherokee cranks and doesn't start or fire . Usually i turn the key back and try again and it works ! it might do it once a fortnight and then maybe twice in a day. The jeep dealer has run the diagnostics but couldn't find anything. According to them "there is nothing wrong with it " I have it on video if that helps anybody in the diagnosis. Any insights would be great . thank you
Sam

Since you're calling it a Cherokee instead of a Liberty, it sounds like you're not in the US. IIRC, export models tended to be mostly diesel. Is yours a Diesel engine or gasoline/petrol?

If it's a diesel Cherokee, I would suggest re-posting your question in the "CRD - Love that torque!" section. LOST has a very active CRD community and I'm sure someone there will jump up to help you.

If you have a gasser, if your spark plugs haven't been changed in the last 30,000 mi (48,280 km) then I would tell you to start there.

I think I had a similar problem (petrol kk). see if it is similar to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5dM5--ZXHs
If it is, the guy that posted the video says that it is a bad fuel pump, in my case it was a bad crankshaft position sensor (13 dollar part) easy to replace, and i ended up replacing the camshaft position sensor also. here is "how to" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNdyzRIZpSE
my dealer said the same thing, they cant duplicate it.

I hope this helps.
cheers!
