I'm a full time farmer. Everyone tells me that I should buy a side by side like a Gator, Kubota, Ranger or Mule. I tell them that I could buy 3 Jeep CRD's for the price of one diesel side by side. The Jeeps are more comfortable, go faster, and can tow more.

So I have 5 CRD's now, but one is always in the shop :) One is my daily driver, one is full of fencing supplies, one is for calf feeding, one is for my boys to drive to school, and one is in the shop.... but should be running by the end of the year (waiting on parts).

Way to go brother.

After the ARPs are installed, rockers checked for wear, TC updated, fluids changed and innards cleaned, you'll have the best little diesel out there. Maintenance is key to longevity.

I took one of my diesels to a the great American Jeep Rally this year... I was the only one there with a CRD and a liberty. I had a crowd of Jeepsters flocking around the CRD asking questions, amazed to learn that Jeep made a diesel. "I want one" was heard more than once.

Hopefully at some point in the near future, these vehicles in good shape will start to appreciate in value due to their rarity and uniqueness rather than depreciating...
They may actually become good investments worth holding onto once you get it in a good reliable condition!!!

This has got to be one of the funniest threads on LOST :CAMPING:

What are we going to do when all the crds dry up? :ALONE: I don't even want to play with DEF systems or ride height gadgets. I guess I'll have to switch to TDI's, but they aren't jeeps :banghead:

Start putting tdi's in jeeps nick. Coty built is doing it but they are quite proud of their kits

more info please?

I was lucky to find #1, funny story, 3 years ago I purchased a Mercedes 190d turbo from a fellow who just purchased a CRD, it had a brand new transmission that didn't work, overheated. After talking to him for 20-30 minutes I told him he should have the cooler back flushed, turns out it was plugged and probably killed the transmission, I never heard if it got sorted out.

2 diesel suburbans here just because the second one pope up.

Too funny, I actually paid motor for my used kubota rtv than my crd, including initial repairs.

Without details, let s just say that I ve always gotten diesel at no cost.
Bought the first one after driving one in Amsterdam in 2005.
Bought the second one because it was to good a deal to pass up.
A 150 lb Great Dane.
Takes two to keep one running
Will pull a 6000 lb boat to the nearby ramp.
Occasionally need 4X4 in south Texas mud and running the beach.
Oh, yeah, I like the smell of diesel. My wife would not recognize me with any other smell.

My wife LOVES her Liberty CRD. Goes anywhere, gets great mileage, easy to park, great visibility and a tank if she's involved in an accident. I like them too.
