Front end parts interchange with gas models?

I'm rebuilding my dad's 2005 after an encounter with a deer.

I've replaced the coolant hoses and intercooler which was enough to get it running and driving. Now it's the mounting panels and cosmetics that I need: sheet metal, radiator & fan & grill supports, fan, headlamp assembly, grill etc.

My question is, other than the intercooler obviously, are most other pieces and parts interchangeable with the gassers or are many front end parts specific to the CRD and if so which ones? I can find plenty of gas model Libertys in the salvage yards but no CRD locally. I'd hate to pay shipping and a large item if I can get it at the pull-a-part here.

I've tried searches but all I get is for aftermarket upgrades and drivetrain stuff.

A list or a link would be most helpful.

Go to this site, pull up a gasser on one page and a diesel of same year model on another web page, look up same part in question, and then compare OEM part numbers.
May take a little time this way, but,

Body wise, I believe they are exactly the same...

Once you have the part numbers, there are several parts interchange web sites that you can use like Hollander, Stemco and others...

Body parts for all 05, 06, 07 libertys are the same.

Specifically, what parts are you looking for.

I did a limited search on Rockauto and found no differences. I'll try that link, which may be more specific and see what I come up with.

Also re-posted in the general KJ thread to see if the gassers knew.

What I need are the radiator supports and the grill supports, stuff like that. What the headlamp and fog bolt to, hood latch mechanism, electric fan, AC evaporator, etc. I don't know how much the intercooler changes other things.

Body parts are the same. Suspension is same, less front springs which are thicker for diesel. Electric, engine components are obviously different. I'm more thinking at the inter cooler, radiator, transmission cooler, which gassers don't have like the diesel. I think looking at the fsm will tell what goes between diesel and gasoline models.

Regarding cooling stack components, you will likely find the differences to be more with vs without towing package rather than with gas vs diesel (except CAC). Just pricing things though, you may save money by going with stand-alone AC condenser and aftermarket Trans-Cooler rather than the combined unit.

Just throwing out a couple more things to compare.

If you need a 05-07 grille support, Rockauto was by FAR the best deal. Most were over $300 and not even CAPA certified.
