Last spring (05) I had to trade in a vehicle to purchase the minivan (kid number four was on the way) Sadly, I let the 04 kj go due to the CRV getting better gas mileage. Well, my house has been KJ free long enough! This weekend I purchased an 06 sport in dark khaki! When I got to the dealer they had a silver side by side with my khaki. Talk about tough choices! I must admit that the silver was hard to pass up. The reason the dark khaki won out?? I feel confident that 5-10 years from now silver will still be an option. The dark kakhi is probably more short term in nature. Either way it is great to be "lost again" :D

Welcome back! The dark khaki is very nice...I couldn't pass up the silver though. Tough choice when they are both there. I am a creature of habit though. Including my 05 Renegade, my last five vehicles have been silver. Either way, it's a Jeep...Enjoy!

Wow...

My last 4 vehicles have been white, black, red, and now Dark Khaki...

White - hated it cause it got so dirty!
Black - hated it cause it showed so much dust, dirt, etc... :)
Red - was okay but faded...
Dark Khaki - *** LOVE IT *** :D

Just wait, I have the dark Khaki, and it shows almost as much dirt as black and white ones do. Light Khaki is probably the best one, since all the mud up here near me just blends in on my friends Light Khaki one.

I go with silver for a few simple reasons: Rock dings and chips don't show as much, scratches don't stand out that much either, and dust, pollen and water spots are hard to see on silver as well. In other words, I can get away with an unwashed Jeep for longer with it still looking clean! I also just think the color pretty much looks good on any vehicle.

PS: Last five silver vehicles: 98 Z28, 03 Wrangler, 02 Acura, 04 Acura and present 05 Renegade...Next will be silver as well...hopefully 07 or 08 4door Wrangler Rubicon!

BTW The dark khaki looks very good...It's one of those colors that only works on a Jeep!

I love the color, but it shows every scratch and all the dust and dirt. I live on a dirt road, and I can never keep my KJ clean. :?

Welcome back Pinevillekj!! How far are you from New Orleans? Let me know when you want to hit the trails. I run with the LA4x4 club and AWOL pretty regularly. Hope to see ya on the trails.

I am about three hours north of New Orleans. Thanks to my four young uns I rarely get to venture out on the trails (unless you count soccor fields) That is one sharp 03 kj!! I had a black 03 kj a few years back. Is your rig a 2wd? I did not notice any 4x4 emblems on the back.
