I'm looking to power the CB from one of the outlets underneath the radio. Anyone know of the part & part number I would need? I have a Cobra CB that's been sitting under the dash for about a year. After that, I'll need to get the Firestik antenna dialed in.

I guess you're talking about plugging the CB power into the accesory/cigarette lighter socket. If so just go to most any auto parts store (NAPA has 'em) and get an adapter to fit it. Basically it just takes the leads from the CB and fastens them to the plug.

FWIW I have my CB fastened with velcro to the passenger side of the center console and power connected to the Access socket. Allows me to remove it quickly and easiliy, thereby theft proofing.

I mounted my CB on the passenger side underneath the dash. It's out of reach for the driver, but I normally have a passenger with me when I'm out on the trails. With the windows tinted, you can barely see it. However, the big Firestik antenna by the tail gate is a dead give away that there's a CB inside.

Thanks for the advice, I'll check the local NAPA part store. Is there a name for the part or should call it 'that thing that connects the CB to the accesory socket'?

That's close enough of a descr.

I put mine on the side of the console so it would be out of the way of kneecaps and etc. I'm 6'3" and under dash is an issue.

auto parts store - get a splitter for your fuse box, connect to radio fuse - you still have to ground it - there are a couple places under steering wheel to ground it. that way you will not have a chance of leaving the CB on and draining your battery

I mounted my CB to the kick panel on the drivers side. I ran the power wire straight into a couple of connecters on the fuse panel.
Coax runs to the back where I mounted a 4 foot firestick on a custom made bracket that is bolted to the spare tire carrier.
I can open the hatch window and it won't rub the antenna.
