hey everyone,

I have an outdoor workspace and i have my head pulled. I had the deck and pistons smeared with a coat of oil, and covered in a sheet of plastic. we had bad storms yesterday and this morning i pulled the plastic sheet off and a little green leaf fell into the number 4 coolant jacket and did everything but scream as it fell into the abyss.

part of me wants it out of there. but does it really matter? its a pretty delicate leaf. if there are small jackets i worry it could clog something.

I'm looking for a drawing of the cooling system to see if there's a chance i could blow it out ..

P

May get it out with a tool like one of these:
I have several of them in different sizes for fishing out things in small hard to reach places....
available at parts stores and Home Depot and other places...

yeah i love those claw things. This time though, i was completely mistaken. it wasn't the coolant jacke, it was the oil return from the head. Yikes!

Fortunately, draining the oil pan also drained the leaf.

NO MORE PERIPHERAL ENGINE WORK UNTIL THE HEAD IS SEALED!!!

good grief. things can go sideways fast ...
