Any rub? Also, your rear flex is quite nice, but I look at your pictures and feel that your front flex looks like you removed your front swaybar!? Honestly, I've never seen a KJ with the front flex like yours. I'm looking at these pictures:

http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/att ... ntid=15097
What causes this? I'm more impressed by your flex up front than in the rear, not to say the rear doesn't flex well!

I'm not a 100% sure why mine flex's well for an IFS KJ, but yes I ALWAYS remove my front swaybar when wheeling off road / testing ect. It the ONLY way I can get my KJ to go places where all my 4" + lifted FLEXJ & TJ trail mates go. That's the whole reason I went to so much trouble to get the front & rear flexing so hard, SO I WOULDNT GET LEFT BEHIND !! ll!

I cant say exactly why mine flexs' so much in comparison to you guys over there, but I can only blame it on the spring bind you guys get with your spacer lifts. No offence but that's not the right way to lift a 4x4, its the cheap & nasty way of doing it. There are more professional ways to go about engineering your vehicles' suspension - I worked for Fulcrum Suspension for 4 years so I am pretty clued up on what works & what doesnt. Point in case, my car.....

I'm seriously considering making some top plates that are as thick as the spacer with some (much) longer bolts. I don't want to lose my height, but I want my front to work as well as Stu's!

Let me know when you make them...I will buy a set from you.

Just about any KJ will flex that well if you take the front sway bar off. Most people don't take it off, that is why you don't see many pictures like that. The swaybar's whole job is to limit flex to make the Jeep it more stable on the road.
Here is a pic of JJ's

You can buy them now from Rocky Road - their 'Budget Lift' they are the spacers everyone complains about! They are too thick - they change the geometry of the IFS so your struts will be destroyed.

Stu's lift is just a standard OME HD spring with a small 8mm spacer on top of the strut which ends up giving about 3/4 of an inch of extra lift ontop of the OME, so about 2.5 inches overall. Its probably less lift than a Frankenlift, but it flexes well and compresses more because there is no Daystar spacer in there.

Wouldn't seem that they would change the geometry anymore than the spacer placed in line with the travel of the spring. The spacer being placed inline would cause the spring to be placed under more seat pressure causing premature failure. I can see a strut problem due the increased travel of the stroke.

Maybe just ordering some OME 926s is the solution.

I thought maybe he kept it on because of his post in the Aussie forum, where he stated he kept the rear swaybar, so I thought maybe he kept the front on as well. I need to do this next time I go offroad.

So, do the OME HD springs work over here or am I better off with the stock springs in my CRD?

They work, but don't put an ARB bar or winch on the front with them....then they don't.

My OME HD 927s must finally be loosening up, I got some full frontal stuff last night and today. I smiled to myself a little when I heard the front tire rubbing the fender flare.

How bad do your tires rub at full flex mutt? Can you turn the wheel at all? Thats the thing about a lift, it doesnt keep down rubbing when flexed. What size tires do you have?

I want that! Nice job OzLtd! Those are some crazy flex pics. Do you happen to have a pic of the rear spacers that you made? Keep up the good work!
