Any advice on:

1. Gotchas for doing the front cam seals? Looks pretty straightforward, pretty standard...

2. Do the rear plugs commonly leak? I have the threaded type with the copper washer. They appear solid, though I have replacements. What I don't have is a gigantic allen socket. I'm debating whether it's worthwhile to buy the socket to replace them, or leave them be.

Seals are easy with factory tool anyhow.

I haven't seen the rear caps leak

Thanks... I think I will probably leave the rears alone... if I could justify ever using a 22mm Allen again that would be one thing, but I can't imagine that being the case.

Maybe while waiting for the rockers to show up I will see if I can find the cam seal installer. If not, I can probably cut down yet another Harbor Freight socket and have yet another oddly modified socket around. :)

Oh, I forgot to mention that the cams exit through those rear caps, but I have only r&r the press in rear caps, which I replaced with new. I've seen plenty of the screw in ones, just haven't had to remove any.

Ah, that makes sense.

I found the VM.1057 seal tool on ebay for $30, so I went ahead and grabbed it. Not a huge price premium over sacrificing sockets, and I know it'll be right. Amazon has some 22mm allen sockets for $7, so maybe I'll go ahead and do them too. I have zero signs of leakage, but I have access no, so maybe why not? I'm assuming those are called "camshaft access plugs" and thus the torque value is 59 lb ft. That's no joke!

Edit: From reading reviews, it seems this cheapo 22mm socket will put up with 60 lb ft, so I guess I'll replace the plugs, too:
