I have a problem with the air bag deactivation switch in the Jeep. My wife tips the scales at 95 lb and is not heavy enough to make the switch. The dealer told me this morning that nothing can be done to correct this. Has anyone else ever had this problem. I would really like her to have the protection of the airbag, well sometimes......just kidding!!!!!!!

You could always have her sit with a 20 lb weight underneath her on the seat

Sometimes mine reacts to my gym bag...weird...it was the only way I even knew the little light was in the grab handle.

You don't say what year you are driving, but it seems to me that my '06 says something to the effect that the multi-stage bag will keep the light on with a light weight person but still response only less violently. It seems to me that there is something like a 60-70lb limit to get it to trip but then after 100 or so it trips with more force. You might want to re-read your manual to see how yours is equipped.

You might want to press the dealer on this one. Mine was delivered with the light on and staying on for the passenger airbag. They eventually found the problem (a broken wire in the 'B' pillar, but one of the first things they looked at was the calibration of the seat sensor. Yes, it can be calibrated, and my dealer told e the cut-off was 75lbs.
