I am looking for posts from satisfied CRD owners who have not had EGR, Tranny (beyond re-flash), glow plugs or other major problems.

My '05 is getting a new trans @ 17,000 miles and I want to have some optimism that I can enjoy my ownership experience in the future.

Please post the mileage and any mods of your trouble free rig.

Thanks

4 months, 4000 miles and no problems. The most enjoyable vehicle I've owned.

2006 CRD Sport getting 28.x~30.x on the highway and 24 or so in the city. Its less than 2 months old and I've got 8k on the odo. I got a flyer about stopping in the dealer for some work about my specific model but I didn't bother calling yet. No mods yet but I want to get the light bar and the sweet renegade roof rack thing as well as a lift and snorkel.

April 2006 manufacture date. 2 months, 4000 miles, no problems. Elephant mod and Shell Rotella @ 800 mi. Magnaflow @ 300 mi. 40# in tires 27-32 mpg on highway, 22-24 mpg in town. I've also run everything from B-100 to straight Dino. It burns it all and just hums along.

No major problems here. Picked it up the 1st day of January and have 9300 miles on it. I have only had the 2 last recalls done to it.

Any Euro forums that are noting any specific problems with the CRD's?

'06 CRD, about 4,000 miles on the odo.

No problems that weren't cause by Biodiesel! LOL. (Hard starting, low mpg).

Did have control arm bolt making noise but so far no motor related issues what so ever. I added a provent @ 11,000 miles to prevent intake/egr issues. Otherwise I drive it. Lifetime average MPG is 21 mixed city/highway. That includes lots of fire trails and a trip to hollister.

06 with a build date of 12/05, 10,000 miles on the odometer without any problems. I run everything from B99 to straight dino. I swithed to Rotella at around 750 miles. Only mod is a glasspack type muffler.

6 month old 2006 model. 10,000 miles. Only issue was a tail light lens that was not properly installed at factory and wasn't seated properly in its recess. Easy dealer fix.

Provent installed on day 1 of ownership. 0w-40 dumped. B20 minimum.

Just shy of 10 months on my '05 CRD Sport and no problems.

I had ECM and TCM reflashed per TSB per my request and I had the transmission oil return filter TSB performed per my request, both at 8,000 miles. Preventative maintenance only.

I'm at 13,800 miles now and just got my best mileage yesterday of just over 25mpg and I've had oversized tires and a 2" lift kit on since new.

I get the ghost shudder occasionally.

Thanks for the posts.

I am hoping this week (3rd @ dealer) my CRD will be fixed finally! I really loved that little rig b4 the trans failed.

To those of you with "occasional shudder", make sure your dealer has performed all trans related TSBs. I had occasional shudder at one time too and now I'm waiting and waiting and waiting for parts to be replaced (trans oil pump, TC and trans).

Where is everyone getting their Provents from?

Try http://www.airnowsupply.com/

The extra filter element for the shelf is a good idea but you won't need the check valve they will try to sell you.

Ditto here. Funny, I just quoted you on another thread. No problems other than I can't keep the miles off of it. I'm at 13,500 right now and might try to park it and drive our other vehicle for a few months to keep the mileage in check.
