So my questions are, after reading all of that, how do we get those Springs to the US?? Great work Oz and taking the initiative to get something done right...but I reckon your driver's side being 5mm higher would be the right for you left for me, so just switch sides and all would be good. How much did it run you to have these Special Order Springs done? After your test running of these new springs, are you getting any sort of A-arm contact or additional contact that a standard bump stop would not block? Also are you running factory or aftermarket A-arms?? Thanks for your help....oh, and please add any additional info you can....

You could always ask them if they have a USA/Canadian distributor.
But judging by this, they don't.

Hi All, well its 4.20pm here and ive just got back from the Wheel Aligning mob. MTR's are back on, everythings back on it and the springs COULDNT HAVE WORKED OUT ANY BETTER !!!! I'm am absolutely stoked at the way the car not only looks (in ride height) but how it drives.
I wasnt expecting the new coils to fix the nose diving problem that we all get with out KJ's, but I guess the spring rate increase has been enough to affect it. The combination of the new coil and OME front strut feels great, really well matched. I havent taken it off road yet as that is tomorrow, but so far the general feeling is bliss.

I checked for upper ball joint contact; it just touches at full droop, but only the rubber boot part - its not resting hard up against it which I am thankful for.
I am running stock arms still, but early in the new yesr i'm getting Al to send over a set of his uppers.

Here is the extract of the post I made in AusJeep:

New coils worked out better than I had hoped for. It even fixed a little of that nose dive we KJ's get under brakes. The increase in spring rate is considerably higher than stock, 410Lb's VS around 465Lbs. I dont have the exact poundage recorded for these new custom's, but I believe it to be around that figure.

I've had it wheel aligned today too. I've done about 60klms before I got it W/Aligned and a total of around 80klms before I measured it this afternoon, just for settle.

The CV angles are excellent, the CRD's benefit from that 1/2 inch cradle drop factory.

Ride Heights: 561mm Passenger Side Front - 564mm Drivers Side Front
563mm Passenger Side Rear - 567mm Drivers Side Rear

There are no King Spring Dealers in the States, OME seem to have the 4x4 stuff covered.

I will have a think about the possibilities of me sending some over to you guys, but leave that with me.

Cheers
Stu

PS - After all this, I still have no idea what a stock KJ's centre of wheel to guard measurement is - can someone post pls ? I dont know if i've got a 3" lift or a 4" !! lol!!

Unfortunately almost all KJs have different stock heights (at last count I think there were 12 diff stock springs for KJs, and diff options add weight.) Post up the details on your KJ when it was stock (options, etc.) and maybe someone with a similarly set up KJ can give you an idea.

My 2005 US CRD looks like 18 1/4 to the edge of the fender flare.

This here is a lightbulb moment/statement that I don't think has been made before and is probably why our front diff collar experiment does not work for CRDs.

I'm game for your coil setup in the near future, I just don't have all the extra weight out front, yet.

410Lb's VS around 465Lbs?? I dont want to question you, but are you sure about those numbers? The rustys springs are only 310lbs..

Anyone know where that thread is that shows all the OME spring rates? I cannot stand the search thing, cannot find anything with it!!

He is quoting the CRD stock front spring rating of 410lbs - which is accurate. And his new design of 465lb rating for the CRD (and a much longer spring, no Daystar spacer needed so a true CRD coil lift - not available here in the US yet). The Rusty's springs are for gassers only. People have used them on a CRD, but then they have to add a top strut plate a little later, then a clevis lift a little later than that, ect, ect, ect.

The diff collar/lower differential improving cv angles was mentioned here:
http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=14354

Might be worth mentioning this in a new thread, maybe the gassers could just swap out mounts and save some wear and tear on the CV joints.

Just found out that the OME hds have a spring rate of 400lbs.. The Medium duties are 375lbs.. I guess the rustys springs just have a low spring rate?

I sent Kings'an email asking if I can order them direct. I let you know what response I get.
(although with a 14 hour time delay - it's Saturday morning there so I don't expect a response until their Monday)

Got any pics of the front flexed? How much space is between the upper control arm and the coil itself?

I think if you go to the thread in the first post, you'll find the info. In short I think he said at full droop the upper rubber boot on the joint is barely touching, and that he will probably go to a set of Al's arms.
