Post subject: | BUMPERS THREAD - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING |
How about a sticky thread on bumpers. One thread showing all the options on bumper would save a lot of searching when we have a lousy search function. Terry If you have any info on a custom bumper (including modifications to your existing aftermarket bumper) or other bumper available to the public, please post info on it. As a favor to those searching this thread will be cleaned of any "fluff" posts and only the informational posts will remain to make it easier to sift through for information. Thanxs! |

Hey we missed the TJM front Bumper. These are a great winch bumper. OZLTD also runs this front bumper. Construction quality and price is almost identical to the ARB. Currently these bumpers can be purchased from any TJM dealer. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=199199#199199 http://www.tjm.com.au/ http://www.tjmbullbars.com/ |

Yeah I need to put a winch and mount some IPF lights like OZLTD did to break it up. It looks better in person than in the pic. I also hear the camera adds 10 inches. Here are a couple of pics of the rear bumper like you requested Fulltimer. The rear bumper is a Marty special. |

My bumper was made by All J products. They made 4 or 5 of them and I own 2 of those. I have more pics, just need to dig them out of whichever card they are on and post them up. I will try to do that tonight. BTW, They do not make them and will not make them any more unless you want to drop your KJ and a pile of money off up in Big Bear, Cali. |

Bedliner, the shell is 3/16 steel. Two 1/4 thick 2 inch square stock off the frames to the hitch. welded a plate with the nuts into the "frame" so it would bolt up from below. gussets and a little bit of angle reinforcing it on the back. Used 6 total bolts, .5" X 4", grade 8 to mount it. Weighs 70 pounds. Chris |

Guess this is the best place for bumper mod pics..... I had a winch laying around wanting a place to sit and since I have more front end clearance now, figured it was time for a change... Started w/ this: Bought a universal winch mount from Harbor freight and modded it to work, cut, chop, grind.... I'll be boxing in the gaps and openings once it is burned in to the back of the bumper and adding an angled section down to the bottom of the bumper and filling in the sides. Probably add a bull bar over the top maybe tabs for lights......maybe.....we'll see how it develops. More to come... |

Elev 9500, above the Marines MWTC at Sonora Pass I'm embarrassed to say, it was a month before I noticed there is a receiver under the license plate. Guess I should investigate winch receiver mounts. |

Post subject: | UPDATE |
Boxed in the sides and cut a plate for the lower portion, angled from just under the leading edge of the winch plate back down to lower edge of bumper. Started to weld it up and welder started acting stupid. I think it might be dying on me...... Guess I will have to find someone to finish welding it up since a new welder isn't in the budget right now......UGH! I'll try to get some progress pics. |
