2006 KJ Brake line extension...

Planning on doing a OME 927/948, bilsteins, with 3/8 top plate up front, one extra iso per side on the rear, tera flex bump stops, and 2 hockey pucks per side rear bump stops. I just about have everything I need, except for the brake line extension for the rear. This isn't really talked about too much. How necessary is this? I have seen some sparse write-ups here and there and ALLJs sell some for about $30.

I believe its worth it.
On my '07, it was DEFINITELY needed.
For a 5$ bracket from the Home Depot, it's very cheap insurance.

Mine isn't as pretty, but it serves its purpose.
I don't have my Jeep right now, but when I do, I'll upload a picture of my bracket.

With flex like this, you better hope you have that extension.

When the DS rear droops like this, it's definitely cheap insurance.

I have an 07 and I'm getting ready to order my parts next week (assuming my taxes come in as expected). I'm doing the same lift as kegan (bilsteins, ome, hockey pucks) but I think instead of top plate I'm going to just do 3/8" clevis. Then if I need more lift later I'll get a top plate.

infernicus or Zinger can you tell me what area in home depot you find that metal piece to fashion the bracket? I looked all over home depot Saturday night and couldn't find it anywhere. I didn't know what to ask for so I didn't ask anyone but I figured I have some time yet since I haven't ordered my parts yet. Also, if you happen to know what size bolts and stuff you used that would be great info as well. Just want to get everything together before I start the lift project. Thanks.

Look close to where they have bolts etc, at least thats close to where they have the stuff here. Piece of flat stock works just the same thats what I use, drill two holes and done

If anyone has any pics of the AllJ bracket I'd like to see that as well. I was wondering how on here they are relocating the brake line in two spots but AllJ just told me theirs is to only relocate one spot.

The ones that are pictured were made. They were cut and bent from another piece of metal.

I installed mine in the Home Depot Parking lot so I wouldn't have to keep coming back.

You can use anything like this.
Just find something that will work for you that has the correct length.
It doesn't need to be VERY strong.

This probably works best.

but you can use anything.

I used an l-bracket bent it a lil, painted, and installed.

I went to Lowes and the only thing I bought was about a 12" piece of slotted angle iron. Usually near the hardware/bolts/etc. Cut both pieces to the desired length. Then for the rear bracket I used a dremel to cut along the seam, then used a vise/pliers to bend the ends to the "square" configuration. Paint em up if you'd like, then bolt them on. Not sure on the bolt sizes, I just took some from the "stash" in the garage. Use the existing bolts to attach the brackets to the frame...you only need to buy two bolts/nuts to attach the brake lines to the bracket.

Btw, if you have the time you can do this project anytime before the lift. No harm in doing that.

Thanks for showing the other options. The L bracket looks good as well. On the write ups I've seen they drop both brake lines (one in front of and behind the axle). All J says just one and it looks like some others have just dropped one mounting point. Is that all you need to do is drop the one rear of the axle about 3"?

Zinger-I do plan to have the brackets ready to install before hand. Just like I plan to drill out my hockey pucks and have all the hardware ready to mount them as well. Thanks again!
