So I ordered a set of these, 245/70/R16. It might have even been a 240, I can't remember anymore.
Tire shop pulls them in, I wait 3 weeks... And low and behold, apparently these tires will rub on my jeep... I don't get it..

Everywhere I read on here said these would rub, no problem. I've got a 06 Renegade, no lift. Barebones stock...
Can anyone confirm or deny this. Cause he's trying to put me into a Dueler AT 6393-II or something... at 235/75... Kinda irratating when I wait 3 weeks only to be told they won't fit BAH

The only way they will rub is due to width but even then I can not see much if any
They are only .1" higher and .3" wider (at the tread) than my 225/75's and they are not even close make sure that you dont have a 245/75 cause that will rub
I would tell them that you want revos ,if you realy do, and take nothing less

They may be basing what you are being told on the stock tire size wich is smaller than the ones you ordered

You probably got the 245 (I don't know that you can get 240's), and the 245 vs 235 is not a big deal, but the 70 vs. 75 is a big deal (the 70 should fit and the 75 should rub). Now, did they put one on? I've had some places that won't even touch them if they aren't in their computer as a stock size (wal-mart for one - wont even balance the tires). Make sure the did the fitting and aren't just saying it'll rub because its not in their computer. If they did fit it, and it is the 245/70, then I don't know why it wont work. Make them show you the rub.

I've got a Renne 04 - now, don't know the difference with an 06 but....
I bought a set of 245/70-16 Dueler AT Revos - no rubbin at all unless at full lock - rubbing against the pinch weld - it was unlifted then.
I drove my unlifted KJ for about 2-3 months with those tires without any problems.
Pixeldzn got the same size tire for an unlifted 05 and no problems there - his was a Firestone destination ATs 245/70-16 - no problems there either.
It sounds that your tire dealer won't even try putting them bcause computer is telling them it won't fit... -
The only thing you need right now is to wait and see if somebody with an 06 has those tires in. - Or - Ask tire dealer to put them on anyway and take it for a drive on the parking lot.... good luck

I just purchased the 245 70 R16's Dueler AT Revos on my unlifted stock '05 Liberty Sport. I was worried that they would rub, but the advice was great. No rubbing yet, and believe you me I've checked. The guy at the local tire store complimented me on how well they "looked and filled out the tire wells." I should have gotten them sooner.

Did you physcially install them and have rubbing? - or is this a tire shop saying they'll rub? - they read their book and it shows the stock size, they may say it'll rub - with no experience to back it up(some folks have had shops that won't install oversize period).

235/75 isn't going to fit, that's bigger than a 245/70!

Someone is feeding you a line, there are 2 rigs at work running Revo 245/70s with no rubbing. My Nokians don't rub either, full stuff they barely touch the forward inner fender plastic.

245/70 Revos on an unlifted 2004 Sport. I've got close to 30,000 miles on them, and have wheeled the Jeep three times so far. No rubbing except for full lock in reverse.

Hope this helps!

Sounds to me like the idiot at the tire store doesn't understand tire sizes and ordered you a 245/75 instead of a 245/70. Did he SAY that they *would* rub, or did they actually rub?

I would make sure I was there when they try to mount the tires so when they say "sorry, the tires rub" I could say "show me"

Going along with everyone else you need to make sure the tires are:

A.) 245/70/16
and
B.) Tell them to show you they rub and will not fit

If they are the 245/75 then it will not work on a stock setup. Just go buy yourself a lift tehee. Or just have them get you the right size (245/70).

I hope everything goes well because the REVO's are great tires! I had them on my stock 04 for nearly 40K until I got a lift and upgraded. Good Luck!!

Thanks guys. I told the tire dealer to shove it, Cause I was pissed off as it was. It took my dealer 3 friggen days to do my Ball joint recall... Let alone the fact I didn't even get the friggen notice... had to find out from my friend.. The lady at the tire shop was trying to act like they were at such a loss by me not telling them sooner I changed my mind.. But shortly after she said that, she acted like the tires they were trying to put me into... were hot sellers..

But I'm gonna order the tires from somewhere else, If not just get them online and get my friend to help me mount them myself. It pays to know someone who works for Jeep heheh..

I'll just keep my jeep in 4x4 until I get some new tires... It's alot more fun when you are blasting through snow drifts and ruts with almost bald tires anyways...
