I think you might gain back some high rpm hp, but you're going to drop some low rpm torque.
So teach a new guy here, The more back pressure you have the more torque you will gain. The less backpressure you have, the more high rpm horse power you gain, but you lose torque?

you arent going to lose some low end torque, with your huge, way-oversized exhaust you will lose all low end.
as far as H pipes go, they are counterproductive with chambered mufflers like flowmasters, which rely on the pulses cancelling each other out. when you use an H pipe before them, you are dulling the very thing which will not only quiet the exhaust but also you are negatively affecting the mufflers scavenging ability. put the H pipe after all this type of muffler. people have mistakenly said that flowmasters are restrictive, thats because they dont install them correctly.
but the bottom line is that this size motor can not put out any more power than is supported by the stock sized single exhaust, with the exception of the stock muffler and the pinch down just before it.
and there is nothing you can do to this engine without replacing many internals that can make it utilize any larger than the stock sized pipe.
people that claim they are gettin big gains from their huge exhaust or duals are just blowing the same smoke as the idiots in the listen-to-how-loud-my-intake-is people on those commercials. gaining a few hp on the top end and losing 3 or 4 times as much from the actual rev range that they actually drive in is just plain stupid and immature
yea! listen to how powerful my motor is, yea right. DORKs
