Thanks for the photos. I've been considering getting the arb for my 05. I just still uncertain because the arb makes it look like 02-04, and I like the look of the 05 front end. I think I am gonna hold out for the tjm.

Were you stationed at Schofield? When? I lived in Hawaii from the end of 2004 to the end of 2006, was stationed at Kunia before I got out of the Navy. I didn't mind the red clay so much when I got my KJ, but while I had my old white ford Focus it sure sucked. Too bad we aren't in Hawaii now, with the new "Super Ferry" coming out there will be even more trails and islands to explore!

The only problem I really had with the island is the fact that there is no where to drive to. I really enjoy driving and going on trips and it's impossible on the island. I put like 10k miles on my libby within 5 months of coming back to the mainland, I had 19k miles on it when I left.

Also traffic was a pain when there were accidents, most mainlanders really don't understand that I think. Bad memories of a certain Army truck nailing a pedestrian overpass on H1 come to mind.

Edit - Also the red clay was a royal pain with dress whites....

I had some friends at Scholfield but I was a Marine stationed at K-Bay from 02-may of 05. I didn't mind the traffic so much cause my DD was a ZX6RR so it was easy to get back and forth  The thing I hated most was being so inclosed and not being able to go anywhere. There are times that I miss it but for the most part I just want to go visit again. I definetly like my season and don't miss getting rained on every frickin' day!

Although it would've been fun to have the KJ in HI I'm glad I didn't have to deal with all the salt! The bike was easy enough but I had to wash it at least every week to keep it from getting build up

Cool, looks like our tours there overlapped. I got my KJ a couple months after you left, in fact my folks visited me the first week of July and I bought my KJ during the second week lol. My mom wasn't happy, well she was happy I got a new vehicle, just not when I got it.

I have a couple friends stationed at K-Bay, the radio BN there. They got stationed there way after you left though.

Definatly a bike would make traffic better but I bet it sucked in the big rain storms. Heck I remeber hitting pools of water on H1 and H2 that would splash over the top of my KJ. Once before I moved out of the barracks (I used to live on Ford Island) the water outside my barracks was to the bottom of my rock rails. Apparently after I left people in cars were stalling out in the middle of the bridge to Ford Island forcing it to be closed.

It was a good experience though, and now people are like "you lived in Hawaii?!?" I like going back, have to take care of my condo every now and again, but I don't think I'd want to live there permenatly.

I had a feeling it was you 'cuase so far, the only midnight blue 07 KJs I know of is yours and my KJ. It looks good both in person and photos! BTW, that's central oahu park, eh?

Oops, location already mentioned.. Sorry, I just read previous posts.
