I had some friends at Scholfield but I was a Marine stationed at K-Bay from 02-may of 05. I didn't mind the traffic so much cause my DD was a ZX6RR so it was easy to get back and forth

The thing I hated most was being so inclosed and not being able to go anywhere. There are times that I miss it but for the most part I just want to go visit again. I definetly like my season and don't miss getting rained on every frickin' day!
Although it would've been fun to have the KJ in HI I'm glad I didn't have to deal with all the salt! The bike was easy enough but I had to wash it at least every week to keep it from getting build up
Cool, looks like our tours there overlapped. I got my KJ a couple months after you left, in fact my folks visited me the first week of July and I bought my KJ during the second week lol. My mom wasn't happy, well she was happy I got a new vehicle, just not when I got it.
I have a couple friends stationed at K-Bay, the radio BN there. They got stationed there way after you left though.
Definatly a bike would make traffic better but I bet it sucked in the big rain storms. Heck I remeber hitting pools of water on H1 and H2 that would splash over the top of my KJ. Once before I moved out of the barracks (I used to live on Ford Island) the water outside my barracks was to the bottom of my rock rails. Apparently after I left people in cars were stalling out in the middle of the bridge to Ford Island forcing it to be closed.
It was a good experience though, and now people are like "you lived in Hawaii?!?" I like going back, have to take care of my condo every now and again, but I don't think I'd want to live there permenatly.
