OK, I'm an idiot. I'm treating the coil like the batt pass-thru in the schematic. basically, I have the picture backwards.
fixing it...

***EDIT***

That better?

Lights really don't need a dedicated battery ground. Save money and time by crimping a ring terminal onto each light's ground and placing it under a unibody bolt.

Dont let that schematic worry you. Sometimes they look alot more complicated than they really are. I really enjoy wiring things(Ive even wired houses before), and I must look at a schematic for a second to sort through it all.

The cheapest place Ive seen hella 500's is at Advance auto parts. I believe I paid $70 for mine. :)

I agree. I grounded mine with the bolts that hold on the front air dam. Its been working great for over two years now. :)

x3...

All 8 lights on the roof rack ground to the bolts that hold them to the rack. The rack has a good ground through it's mounting points.

The bumper lights actually carry the ground through their plug then are grounded right behind the grill. The way I mounted the bar they are on limits it's contact with metal, so I just worked the ground into the 3-pin plug that runs the 4 of them and grounded it right on the other side of the plug under the hood release safety thing.
