Hey man, if you do this and plan to sell them in any way keep in mind that "LOST" is a registered trademark. Please make sure you get the go ahead from Wally (founder of "LOST"). Here's his email...sevenwallyseven@aol.com

Yes you did say that. BUT in the past when a new idea has been introduced there seems to be a lot of comments on the copyright of the lost name.

We'll probably continue to mention it. In the past guys have wanted to put the LOST name on some pretty crazy stuff, sell it on Ebay, etc.

Let's use the Ebay example. If there was a dispute they can come back and say "Hey, I even posted it on the LOST site and nobody mentioned there'd be a problem." I'd be negligent in my duties if I didn't at least give the guy a heads up.

I'm sure Jetson is a great guy with the best of intentions (and a great idea) but we're going to treat everyone the same when it comes to these things. Heck, Jetson is even from Colorado so he has to be good people. I was trying to make this process go smoothly and the followup comments aren't helping toward that end. Just let the powers that be handle it and we'll be all good.

I guess I didn't see where the other threads got out of hand, but we didn't have to go there again. Now we're completely off topic. Sorry for that Jetson. Folks, please continue with comments on the actual design...

KJ with a solid front axle...oh yeah. :D

So back to the topic of the LOST trail rated badge...

Is is really just another version of the LOST sticker?

ORRR......

Should it involve some kind of rigorous trail test for the driver + jeep? :-D

Should we make it a rite of passage for a new jeeper to go out on a trail with his regional group and pass some kind of skill test? That would be neat if the LOST trail rated badge followed the same sort of idea as the jeep badge, but actually made the specific vehicle go through the trial rather than just one of that model.

Example Skill Test:
[ ] River crossing 8"+ depth, 3ft+ traversal.
[ ] Hill climb, 15 degree grade or higher, 5 foot+ climb.
[ ] Rocky terrain, 8" or larger rocks or roots

That would actually be kind of neat to do, and give the regional groups something fun to do for the newbies when they go out on their first run. They get to a section of the trail that has one of those and "grade" them on how well they did it. Really, if you can do it at all, you get the trail rated, but it's all in good fun!

If you've ever seen the bumper stickers that say "This Vehicle Climbed Mount Washington", it could be like that, "This Vehicle Passed the LOST trail rating test". :-D

Good idea but from what I've seen around here, there goes 50% of the membership. Unless proper maglite mounting and sticker placement would be apart of the skills test.

Then again, maybe you could come up with a "Mall Rated" sticker too. You guys wouldn't want to leave out the "Lumber Yard" (2X4) KJ Owners.

[x] Driveway climbing, 15-degree grade or higher, 5 foot+ climb.
[x] Pebble climbing, 8" or larger pebbles or twigs
