Great turnout Tom, you missed out on a good run.
I'm guessing 20+ rigs showed at the reststop not including the Hall Of Fame group that we never even crossed paths with that hit the trail earlier.
We split into 3 groups at the trailhead, Terry took a group, Jason took a group, and I took the LOST group. The trails were on the slick side but mostly manageable except for the steeper grades. Everyone experienced the Wellsville grease right off the get go. We spent close to an hour just getting up the second grade on the way in. I almost opted to turn the group around and take a bypass to the playground, but the LOST guys held there own, sliping and sliding in and out of ruts on the way up, myself included. And mind you, this was one of the easy trails!

I hope everyone is a little wiser from there experience today, as it will aid you all in your next bout with Wellsville.

I'll let the rest of the guys tell there versions of the run and keep you in suspence for awhile longer. :lol:

right, no locker. if i had one in the rear, maybe i wouldnt have spun out. but, who knows. i'm pretty sure KJ04 had lockers front and rear when he broke his.

Yeah, I found a housing with 50k on it for $250. Thats actually the whole assembly, of course, not just the housing, so its a drop out, drop in installation. 4.10s would be sweet, but I dont really have the money right now to spring for the extra cost of regearing the rear. So, new 3.73s it is... :(

What gets me is, Alex came up in front of Jon and made it with his BFG AT's. As you can see from the pictures, there was nothing dry for the tires to suddenly bite and grab traction, his tires were just spinning.
I came up in 2 nd. gear with a moderate throttle, hit the hump and my momentum carried me right over it.

Hey Jon, might be a good idea to get a front diff. colar for this housing.

What a deal!! Glad to hear you got real lucky!!

I got mine for $400 and it had around that number of miles. I thought I did dang good... :shock:

I too was surprised it wasn't on a rockier section (or from what I could tell from the pics taken)...I was on pure rock when mine grenaded. :? Ah well...crud happens I guess...

It could just be a flaw in some of the housings. Ive got to say Ive beat the snot out of my front diff on some trails around the house. I was going up a steep dry hill once with tons of baseball size rocks laying loose. I almost had it to the floor in 4low the entire way up the hill with it bouncing like crazy. I thought for sure the front diff was going to pop but I didnt have a choice. I went down the hill and it was a dead end, and I was alone. It was only a 30min or so walk back home though so I wasnt worried about spending the night there or anything.

I had the locker at the time too.

just called up my local dealer and ordered the lube, RTV, pinion seal, and 2 axle seals. should be good to go!

Yeah, I will be using a dolly wherever I do it. And my moms 4.7L GC. I just wasnt sure how much I wanted to tow it all the way to Toledo. But, it's certainly not a bad option. And, I like your garage... :wink: :lol:

Just curious, have to do some research, but with 2/3 people working on it should not be too bad.

I did mine over a two day period. Pulled it apart the first day and took my True Trac out of the old and installed it in the new one along with new axle seals, sealed it back up, and then reinstalled on the 2nd. day. I'm guessing about 8 hrs. total taking my time. I did have help on the 2nd. day to lift it up in place and get the bolts back in.

With two people wrenching I'd guess 4/5 hrs.
