I totally agree.

I firmly believe that you should do what you want with your property and have fun doing it without endangering others.

I was just relaying my experiences from my past dealings with insurance companies and how they think.

Death, Taxes and Insurance Company's supply of vasoline.

ALL are indisputable facts in this world.

NOW, how much vasoline they use before the &$#@ you is up to you.

Here is the thing about aftermarket WINCH usable bumpers it is hard to make them compliant with air bags due to the fact that you plan on pulling against the bumper frame excetra so to do this it has to stout enough to handle it so to make it crush well and pull well it is hard to do like the arb and road armor bumpers that say they are airbag compliant It is deffinately not going to bee to oem specs.I have designed my mounts to be able to give some in a front end collision so it is not like having a 1" plate bolted directly to the frame. There is room for give.If people want it to work like factory than stay factory.

JHCRASH,

I totaly agree. we cannot have it both ways. Nobody ever said that your bumper, or anybody elses custom steel bumper, should or does work to OEM specs. If it did, it would not be needed. The fact is that we all want a BETTER bumper than the lawyers and designers in detroit tell us we have to have. That is where you come in. The previous posts are just meant as a topic of awareness for all who are interested in after market materilas for thier KJ's.

I had no intention of talking down about your bumper. quite the opposite, I think it looks great and so do others. I wish you all the success in the world in this venture.

My post I just put up in another topic about this matter will explain my point a little more for those who still don't get it. I talk about a friend of mine who has 3 engineering degrees and fabricates truck for a living in a 3rd generation company. His concern is what sparked this discussion for me and I just want to help make others aware of the gravity of the decissions they make. I decided to go with the ARB because of looks, price and availability.

That was my decission. Others will make different ones. just think it through.

JHCRASH, I would love to see your bumper on MORE KJ's, send some to KY and I will photograph them for you.

Thanks to all you guys on here you rock this place feels like a second home to me :D

OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!

I'll make a photographer out of you yet.

Next lesson is to USE the FRAME.

Second pic is a verticle when it should have been a horizontal. Fill the frame with the subject. Other tricks to come. But MUCH BETTER.

HOT LOOKING BUMPER and photographs well too.

I can't get over how good that bumper looks. What kind of man hours go into that beast?

You are gonna need some better marketing for that thing. Don't have to hire me but you need to promote that thing BETTER.

Do you have a website?

Your Logo is cool and that is a great start.

You have got something there and it is never too late to get your marketing together.

Funny thing about those pics is its my cell phone. The digital camera is in my jeep at the dealer.
Im not a huge fan of powder coating I hve not seen a good job done I prefer urethane. But hey buy anyway and you can get it powder coated anywhere you want. :D :D

a good poly paint on an epoxy base can be harder and take mre abuse than a powdercoat. Im sure rush would agree with me. Where i work we have some of the parts on our cement trucks painted and some powder coated and 5 to 10 years later seeing the trucks rolling down the road you can tell what has what by how warn it is. An paint is a lot cheeper and you have a lot more variety. Oh and rhino lining. If you thin it out a bit more it looks just like paint anyway.

EDIT otherwise the rhino unthinned comew out like normal...... like cottage cheese giving it that wet look

Yup I love urethane and epoxy,And the thing about an industrial urethane is you can buff it forever to keep the shine and it never wears out.
