But the piece you have now is fine, cant you just move it out even 1/4 to 1/2 inch that way the turn signal would sit even with the body od the bumper. Not that it looks bad dont get me wrong but just making it even would help smooth it out

I'm having trouble picturing what you're trying to say, too. Are you saying to move the turn signal forward and toward the center of the bumper? You can't really make the turn signal fit to the bumper because the bumper is angled. If you move the signal forward and toward the center, all of a sudden the "pod" that contains it becomes a more dominant feature of the bumper. As it is now, it occupies as little real estate as it reasonably can, while still covering the area exposed by the stock bumper.

If you sit and stare at the pictures, eventually you're going to find something to complain about but, believe me, I've stared at the real bumper a lot over the past few days, and I can't find anything that I don't like about it (except that the driver side doesn't line up with the wheel well quite right, but you have to be looking close to notice).

Hopefully you'll have a chance to see the bumper in real life, and you can see what I mean. But, in any case, I don't think Jason should go through a lot of expense and trouble to make a change that, personally, I don't think is necessary (or even desirable).

But, again, to each his own.

I agree with this. The turn signal housing looks like an afterthought (prolly because it is :wink:

) IMHO, don't really need to stay with the stock turnsignals if the shape doesn't work.

Really like the bumper, except for the signal box.

alright new idea here. What are the differences for mounting between the 2 bumpers? If i replaces the grill for my 03 with and 05+ would i be able to bolt the later model bumper up to an earlier model lib? I do uunderstand the whole deal with the fenders and thats not a problem. I can always cut the crap out of them(plan on doing oit for the extensions im going to make anyway)

C co crusader: I am not sure what all is different the headlight header is for sure and the older grill sits back more on the bottom so I dont know if it would work.

Maximum carnage: That is a light but just a marker light on the 05'-07', On the 02'-04' it blinks alternately the turn signal when you splice it in.I think it is cool how it works with the older models.

I'm feeling kind of dense. I just figured out that is an SC logo. Very cool. I know it would add 3 cuts, but something like this very rough paintbrush edit would make it obvious.

Actually, I should have looked at this one. Feeling downright ignorant now for not realizing what it was. I'm going to need one of these bumpers. Done too much to the Jeep recently though. It will have to wait a while. Very nice work.

I dont know if the bumper will ever get changed to fit the stock fog lights. To change the bumper to make that spot big enough to fit them would require a complete redesign almost because of all the angles involved. Most every one I have spoken with does not have a problem replacing them with aftermarket lights.

No Offence But since I replaced my Fog's Bulbs with Silver Stars 9005, I don't want to part with them. They are like an extra set of head lights :twisted:

The other reason I dont really want to adapt to the stock fogs is it would require that the bumper get moved outward because of the depth they would hit the front crossmember.So it really would be a complete design change. Where they are in the stock bumper it causes a loss in approach angle that is why alot of people cut them out to gain that clearance.

Not a problem if I were to purchase your bumper I may just look to the 50's era of design. As in mount the existing light in a protruding shroud as in the head lights off a '57 Chevy then mold them back into the bumper. :shock:

Remenicient of the Dagmars (Front Rounded Bullets on the Bumpers of late 50's rides) that way I would retain my ride and have my fogs protrude foward with a protective houseing.
Hint: When designing don't just look at whats being done now by the competition look back at what other pioneers in the industry have done. Some of their ideas coulld just set you apart and allow you to blaze you own trail :shock:

There are many benefits of having JHCRASH and others design and fabricate our Jeep Liberty with custom parts. The difference is immeasurable in the quality and customer service that we have all come to expect. JHCRASH has a true passion and personal commitment to the Liberty. There is a limited number of distributors making Liberty aftermarket components, and some of these manufactures do not always seek our advice when they design the product. Basically, we pretty much get what they have to offer. At least JHCRASH is willing to add holes, add the stinger, and add or take away other components or design issues. He is listening to what we want while making sure it will work. Neither Rock Lizard nor JHCRASH make junk! And who knows, they might keep cranking out new products and keep the aftermarket crowd happy! Before long, we might have to make multiple choices between excellent aftermarket products!

Thank-You Sir after all with RL going on Hiatus, this is a prime time for you to pioneer new avenues. Your not stealing business but filling a voids. As I tried to point out our KJ's aren't our fathers or grand fathers jeeps. But if you look at the classic designs of the late 30's to the late 50's you will see a pleathera of design ques's :shock:

. Is this an accident I don't think so just history repeating it's self. After all look at todays market.... Are they now building new Elenores?? or 69 Camero's?? It's not the first time designers have looked to the past. Take our classic KJ design and build from design that worked 40 years ago with the same body style design and play it forward!!! :idea:
