Gday Everyone, I just thought i'd jump on and help you guys out with a few things.
yes, Kings make OME coils, but OME design them to their own spec, Kings purely manufacture them.
The KJ King coils on the shelf are a completely different design to the OME ones available.
My CRDSTU front H/D coils made by Kings are perfect for a PETROL KJ with ARB or eqiv STEEL BAR and / or winch. The are also perfect for the CRD with or without an ARB Bar / Winch. Id always recommend my Laser Cut front Strut plate of course as it does give slightly more downwards travel as well.
My Current Prototype CRDSTU REAR HD coils that are in cmorh's car are working perfectly. I was nervous as to the height that it would raise to when 1/2 of the load was removed (therefore converting back to daily travelling loads) but to my reassureance it was actually 565mm. Im sure it would go upto around 580mm on an empty stock KJ which is a warning to those out there who think it would give them the ultimate 5" lift !! lol!
As for the ride, cmohr is yet to have my custom OME Super Long Travel shocks fitted. Im waiting on the H/D Crush tubes to be machined - which I will show you photos of when we fit them to cmorh's KJ. The difference between what is in his car and its condition with plenty of 4WD use, compared to what I put in will astound you. Its these little things that can really stuff your trip to the outback that shouldnt be overlooked. The coils do not ride stiff as far as im concerned - its the shock & coil COMBO that dicate your lift so i'll reserve my comment on the ride untill my shocks are on. Just keep remembering, THIS COIL IS DESIGNED FOR CONSTANT LOAD AND OR TOURING WITH A CARAVAN ect.
