Sorry, no holy grial by this side, front diferential is aluminiun the magnet didn't stick, but other than i think, in 2WD, on tire on air and the other on the ground, if i turn the front wheel the transmision turn to the trans case, is normal ? i had a Nissan with automatic locks on front wheels and it turns only the tire. This killing my mpg.
People think i'm stupid locking under all libertys around here to find a D44

Normal operation in 2wd is for the transfer case to disconnect the front drive shaft. Unfortunately the tires turn the axles which turns the differential which turns the drive shaft. A lot of extra drag especially in stop and go traffic, not too bad if most driving is highway.
It would be nice to have hub locks (lock the axles to the wheel) but they don't make them for the KJ.
