I took off on sunday and wet my Jeep's feet for the first time. I went to a little place a few miles northwest of Cochitti Lake. It's just past the Dixon Apple orchards, and there was about 10-15 miles of good offroading (for a newbie). First I thought it was going to be desert the whole way, then all of the sudden we were in the forest, which was a pleasant surprise. There were a couple of tough spots where I was sure I would dent my muffler, but I didn't stop to take pics at those places. At the end of the road, after about 10-15 miles, the stupid road forked off, and on the left, there was a true 4x4 path, which was blocked off from unequipped vehicles by a big sharp-cornered boulder, and a little bit of space on the left to pass by, but the grade of the road at the passing point would have tipped my Jeep, so I turned around because the other side of the fork in the road had a private propery gate. There were alot of great camping places out there too, and very few vehicles. There was a stream crossing about every 100 yards too. So, here's the pics:
^ Flex test, coulda done better
^ Me
^ My dad, we're waiting for a couple of passing vehicles.
My first time crossing water!
I love green stuff.
Just seemed like a good pic to take.
Heading back.
Big rock or tiny jeep?
Later. -Nate
