...any heat mode. One member modified his heater/AC temp control switch to shut off the AC compressor when heating. If you live in a dry climate, the mod of shutting off the AC in the heat only mode may be a good idea. If you live where you see fog, not so good.

As much as I love to Rip the Big Shots and Bean Counters of Detroit, I have to admit the following topic is where the Big Shots got off their butts and took charge and told the Bean Counters to shut up.
Auto companies cycle the AC compressor when the heat is on because dry air drys out window fog better than moist air.
To put this into perspective to those not smart enough to own or drive a Jeep.
As I explained to a Corporate World/Capitalism hating Subaru driver (Sub Jeep driver) two simple facts:
1) Accidents may result in death. (Fogged up windows can cause accidents)
2) Dead people don't buy cars
The second point left the English Professor speechless with a dumb look on her face.
Of course, all of us knew 1 & 2 already.
