I planed to take a couple of hours to do it, it ended up taking all day. You have to cut a 3" hole in the fender plus some pilot holes for mounting. Then you have to cut kidney-shaped hole in the two layers of steel underneath the fender. The one under the hood is more difficult if your kit is missing the template (like mine) and then you have to cut into your airbox. You have to remove the factory intake and use the included hardware to plug the hole....... if the hardware included matches you hole in any way..... mine didn't so I fabbed a plug from star board.
I am glad I did it but plan on taking all day, pay the $75 for the plug since the outer template is not accurate and get yourself an airsaw with a couple of blades.
Yea,this isn't your basic bolt-on job.I had to modify all 3 holes. Can't imagine attempting it without those templates"wich were all a little off".And to plug the hole I used some plumbing parts from Home Depot.
The white fitting fit the hole perfect. On the outside I used a rubber plumbing cap with the supplied strap. On the inside, the fitting was threaded wich houses the taps for the moisture sensor mounted at the bottom of the air box, capped with a PVC threaded plug.I used a bandsaw to cut the fitting to shorten it a bit to fit the rubber cap flush with the outside of the airbox.
