Again it has been more than 15 months since I did this. My onlu issue was getting the new rotors to fit, which they did not. I tried 3 different brands and finally had to go to the dealer to get OEM Bosch rotors that would actually fit. No one could explain, even the manufacturer did not have a clue why the rotors would not fit over the parking shoes. We did get a micrometer out and messured, the OEM was 3mm larger than the aftermarket ones.

How strange. Perhaps the three "different" brands were all sourced from the same factory and they either mislabeled or got the OEM specs wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.
Luckily, my rotors fit perfectly. But those shoe springs were a pain in the arse! I finally went with what was shown in the manual but put a tiny spot of grease between the spring and the parking brake actuator to reduce slow down the damage from the thing scraping up against it.
I also replaced the bleeder valves in the new calipers with "one man" bleeder valves which have a one-way valve so I could bleed the lines myself.

Everything seems to work fine now.

Ah yes - HEAT! Of course by golly.
Time to get out the propane torch.

Yeah, and while you've got that torch out don't forget that brake fluid is really quite flammable.

I also had a little issue with the spring, but a set of needle nose took care of that. I always use copper paste to lube any contact points. I did both side at a time but left one side open to make sure it all went back the same. 2 cans of CRC to clean it all and everything works like a champ. it took days to get the rotor isssue fixed though.

Looks good, should stop your mule without squeeling to much

Here's one for you break experts - I want to set the parke brake on my CRD without removng the rim. Which way do i need to turn the adjusting screw without stuffing it up properly

It's nice to be able to pull back on the reigns and have this mule actually stop again.
New brakes are a think of beauty . . .
