I believe that port is also called a J plug connector.
Ditto on funny, invasive reads and results on connection of common OBDII readers/scanners, and CAN devices.
My dash lites up with all kinds of warning lites and my coolant gauge and tach drops out if the motor is on when connected to any kind of common scanner.
And now if anyone tries to constantly get service gauge desires out of the J plug, it just will not work, (map, boost pressure, things like that).
An Italian engine mixed with a Euro ECU mixed with a very American TCM and transmission mixed with a very, very American Jeep!!!
Please, Not to hijack but does not Arizona connect to that said plug when emission testing??- Man will that tweak things up at the testing lines!! - I remember Turbo Tim mentioned a 99 dodge diesel going through testing and all they did was check for black smoke- BUT- that is not a under 8500 lb, post 1996 MY light truck/passenger car that is required to be tested by OBDII connection-- I wonder what will happen? Do we all fail here in Arizona?
