Yup, again, multiple gauges isn't going to happen. How are the glowshift gauges working? A lot of the cummins forum bought them but weren't happy with the quality.

nope no problems with them... seeing them or otherwise

....what does the F/S mean on most of the pyro listings?

I've been eyeing the multitude of gauges Summitt Racing sell...since I've bought stuff from them, they tend to send a big catalog once a month or so. From what I can gather F/S would mean "full sweep." It seems that full sweep gauges have about a 270 degree (as in angle) range of travel. It seems that the "normal sweep" ones are maybe around 120 degree range of travel. The full sweeps seem to be quite a bit higher in some cases.

Update, got the watchdog.

And it sucks.

I called bully dog before I made the purchase. Asking them specifically would it work in my case. "Sure the watchdog works on 96 and newer vehicles"

I call them up and ask "Why doesn't it read DTC's"? After a bit of fumbling I get an answer back "It needs an update". So I state that I updated it from their website as soon as it was out of the box. Next statement was "Wait did you buy this diesel in the US or is it an import". I went round and round for a while until they basically said "Sorry it's not going to work".

I had read stories back when I had a duramax about how crummy of a company they were. Guess I see it now first hand.

Back to the drawing board for a all in one gauge. UGH.

You can forget any product that reads from the OBDII port. The interface is messed up on the CRD and most aftermarket readers will not work. You will lock up your TCM and get random reboots while going down the road, as well as the fact that most of the data you are trying to read will be missing.

I believe that port is also called a J plug connector.
Ditto on funny, invasive reads and results on connection of common OBDII readers/scanners, and CAN devices.
My dash lites up with all kinds of warning lites and my coolant gauge and tach drops out if the motor is on when connected to any kind of common scanner.
And now if anyone tries to constantly get service gauge desires out of the J plug, it just will not work, (map, boost pressure, things like that).
An Italian engine mixed with a Euro ECU mixed with a very American TCM and transmission mixed with a very, very American Jeep!!!

Please, Not to hijack but does not Arizona connect to that said plug when emission testing??- Man will that tweak things up at the testing lines!! - I remember Turbo Tim mentioned a 99 dodge diesel going through testing and all they did was check for black smoke- BUT- that is not a under 8500 lb, post 1996 MY light truck/passenger car that is required to be tested by OBDII connection-- I wonder what will happen? Do we all fail here in Arizona?

Back to thread------

In Arizona it could go a number of ways for inspection next year.

A: They could plug in the OBDII connector and "Try" to look for any code. (In Az, any code = Fail, even if it is for low tire pressure or anything else stupid).

B: They could just run you on the rollers and look for black smoke. (It would be a real shame if it was put in 4X4 Full and it just keeps climbing off the rollers).

C: Just floor it and they watch for black smoke. (It's called the governor test).

But most important of all, DO NOT get out of your vehicle and let some half-wit kid screw up your Jeep! You are allowed to slide over to the passenger seat and they still get to run the test. If they do something stupid, just reach over and turn it off and ask for the boss. (Don't ask me how I know this). It gets results real fast.
