I don't know about you guys, but I would not want that steel braid stuff in my engine bay. It rubs against everything else, sitting there like a giant vibrating file, eating away at anything rubber or plastic that touches it. I had another car with a braided steel covered fuel line that came around the valve cover, it sagged and pulled tight against the aluminum and wore 1/16" deep into it in a few thousand miles.
I agree with your concern. However in my particular situation I'm not having any rubbing issues on the turbo side that some have reported, and since the samco can no longer expand with boost due to the extremely tight steel braid I don't have to worry about it touching/rubbing something under extreme boost conditions either. Plus I'm seriously considering the GDE turbo kit which would add even more boost and cause more expansion . . . However, I do need to do something on the driver/intake side near that AC connector area.
