Walleyes continue to be caught during low-light periods in 15 feet at Jarvis Lake and in 20 feet at White Bear Lake. Look for crappies in 10 to 12 feet at Demonterville Lake, in 18 feet at Centerville Lake, and in 10 feet at Lake Peltier. Crappies and white bass are being found suspended over 30 to 40 feet on the St. Croix River. Northern pike are an easy catch with sucker minnows on Lake Jane and Centerville Lake.

If you want some tips.
1. You were out a little too deep. Try looking at the lake maps that you can find in the local bait shops. Stay on top of any sudden drops, and between 5 and 20 feet of water, depending on what you are looking for.
2. The bobber in the pic was a little on the big side. Try something a lot smaller. More along the lines of just big enough to stay afloat, from the natural weight of your setup (hook, line, sinker (keep them small too), and bait.
3. Northerns will eat anything they want to.
If you plan on fishing a lot, invest in an underwater camera... Cabela's has their name on one, and it is very handy. (This comes from a guy that spends at least 3 days a week fishing (aka

) various areas around the metro, and up to Ottertail... -My Dad
