WIDE in BACK NARROW in FRONT..........

BUY (4) 265/75r16 and (1) 235/85r16 for the spare both same height so no problem there.

If the 265 work great! My spare is just a spare and should work if needed being the same height.

If the 265 don't work. I have the 235/85r16 to see if the narrow tire would work without cutting and folding over the pinch weld. Yeah after seeing the 265s on I might not even think this, but all I would need to buy would be one 235/85r16 and then I can have the two 235/85r16 up front where the 1" narrow tire will hopefully be enough to solved any major issues.

THOUGHTS? I will be placing order thursday evening.

CLARIFICATION: see bold items:
1. Both are 31.7" (235s are 1" narrower the 265 are 10.5" wide)
2. Both are BFG All Terrains

if the tires arent the same height you could potentially cause some issues. it would be best to run the same size and brand tire all together because some brands run a little different in size then others

If you run two different sizes you will destroy your drivetrain. even if you aren't using 4wd

now, if you don't have 4wd it is fine.

so, in other words, make sure you disco your front DS if you actually plan on doing this :ROTFL:

And it actually works better if you are wide in the front and skinny in the back, the bigger tires will float more, and the skinny tires will run
through their swath and dig to the solid stuff.

looks dumb as hell though

*edit* Just to clarify, this works well on bikes/quads, have only seen it a handful of times on 2wd mud trucks

only even semi accurate way to actually determine it is to have them mounted and roll them out to see what their true dia is

i had a pretty fun time when i had just the rear lifted, and spacers installed just on the rear.. nice feeling of driving sideways anytime i turned the wheel

The one inch overall width will not make that much difference in the grand scheme of things. Stay with the same size all the way around.

First off a 235/85/16 and 265/75/16 aren't the same height 99% of the time. A 31.68" and a 31.73" would both be listed as 31.7" tall but the difference can break something.

I think some of the previous posters missed this line... If you step up to a 32" tire (both 235/85 and 265/75 are considered 32's) you are going to have to do more than just pound the pinch weld. You will have to do that on a 30.5" tall 245/75/16. You will also have to trim the front bumper, and a good portion of the front wheel well liners, and possibly tweak the metal lip on the inside rear flares back too. Plan on a washer bottle relocation in the future too. If you front passenger suspenion is comressed at all and the wheel turned to the left it will hit (and break) the washer pump.

Its on a KK all you should have to do is the pinch weld and heat up the plastic in the front of the wheel well and stretch it out a bit

Even if this works well in the beginning, it would seem that the tires could wear differently and over time the diameters could diverge (seems like the narrow ones would lose diameter quicker that the wide ones... not really sure on this but I wouldn't want to risk it).

I am going with the 265 all the way around and will be having some mods done make it fit better. For sure I will crank up the front lift another 1" to give me a 4-3/4" front lift.

i'm guessing it was a cost saving method at some point of production..

I'm pretty understanding with things when it comes to vehicle design.. but our tarded pinch welds aren't one of those things..

aluminum front diff that kersplodes on people every now and then.. yeah.. i get it..

that stupid pinchweld protruding into the fenderwell..

No.. I don't understand ..

I do not have any pinch weld issues with either the 245/75/16 MT/R's or the 265/70/16 Destination LE's I just put on, but both are on factory steel wheels.
