Bridtail, welcome to the forum and to the Libby scene.
With that said, some of us call Tom the Rev cause he speaks the gospel on lifting libertys
( even though others may disagree  . )
If you can swing it, like Tom said go with OME springs all around the first time, you won't regret it. If you are on tighter budget, then grab a Daystar. Again, after some miles, the front springs are going to sag even more with a Daystar and eventually you will decide to replace them anyways. I bought a daystar kit for ours, ended up selling it after watching my 5'-0" wife and short kids trying to get in our unlifted Libby( going to try another route).

Welcome to the forum. As a fairly new member (who has just pulled the trigger on the lift for my Libby), I can offer the advice that the others have:

Point #1:Tom IS the man when it comes to the info on Jeep Liberty lifting. I bought what I thought was a good lift only to find out the front springs were not the best (Skyjacker). After Tom educated me, I sent an email to the , very reputable, retailer and exchanged emails back and forth, all to find out Tom was correct. I immediately made arrangements to upgrade.

I am going the whole hog on my lift. Why? Point #2: After pining for several years about lifting my Jeep, I decided I would rather save up and spend the extra money to do it right the first time, rather than have to spend more money later to fix the cheap job (already had that with my roof rack!). I'll admit, I've gone over my estimated budget, but feel in the end that I have a lift that will probably last longer than the Jeep itself.

I know it's a killer to have this long list of mods you want to do (made even worse when you see some of the fine rigs on this forum... I'm trying to emulate Tom's in fact! :D ) but I have found it was well worth it for me to wait and save for the best (or at least widely accepted as worth what...) your money can buy.

And, my stock springs are shot at 50,000 miles. I would have wasted the cost of a spacer lift about 10,000 miles ago!

Enjoy the forum and suck up all the info you can. It will be worth it in the long run... And, be patient Grasshopper!

XD I copied+pasted Tom's post into a Notepad for safekeeping..

I found a place that sells OME kits (that seems to have good reviews as far as customer satisfaction) and I'm going to go with that. I keep hearing about how nicely their coils are.

I was reading up on all the different available lifts last night (and exhausted the poor Forum search engine) and I was about ready to kill something.

hhhmmm, well there's not much else there is to be said... my libby is currently lifted with a rock krawler lift and I hate it, albeit i purchased it with this particular lift on it and i have not modded the libby myself one bit... i hate this lift, i personally will be going the OME route myself in about a month or so. and even with the rk lift my libby has sagged almost to the point of stock it is not far above the completely bone stock libby i am parked next to at work right now. (by the way I will definately take you up on your offer to come up there and wheel...)

I'm looking at lift kits as well, and I was going to go with the Rusty's kit but have read and read and now I'm convinced that ome is the way to go. Rocky Road has the complete kit, I'm wondering if that has everything I will need? Or do you suggest going somewhere else to buy. If so do they have a complete kit, because otherwise I'm lost on what I will need, and what to get. By what to get I mean that you keep saying things like 927 ome springs, what does the 927 mean. I'm guessing firmness?

I was also wondering where I could find a picture of Tom's KJ. I read his mod list and I'm curious about a couple of the things on there. And from the way everyone is talking about him I'm guessing his is sweet.

dont get rusty's... i just replaced that kit with the OME/Rancho setup.... crusty's front springs sagged a ton in a year. and that was no wheelin either..... RRO has cruddy customer service from what i hear...... never dealt with them personally. i have dealt with heather at allj... (boulderbars.com) she was awesome.... they have the OME kit all pre-assembled and ready to put it in... its called the frankenlift. you have to go with the premium kit with OME springs and OME shocks/struts. they used to do an OME/Rancho setup but the ranchos used were discontinued. the frankenlift will get you a little higher than just a spring and shock lift cause they use a special top plate vs. the stock unit you would reuse when replacing the springs and stock struts. you can usually piece something together with springs and shocks for way less than the frankenlift and add stuff to get as tall as the franky but if you want something pre-assembled and worth every penny, go with the franky.... im sure some of these other guys can give you specifics on the franky. this is just my :2cents: ....

First thing is first OME is always a must either in the Frankenlift or straight OEM form. Second of all you have a Seller of OEM right on this forum website. His website is http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index.php you have to call him to get a price but he was cheaper then anyone else i could find. And he seems to be a really reputable dealer has anyone dealt with them ?

Thanks for the sierra expeditions tip, over a 100 dollar difference from the others. Only problem is I think they are out of the kj set for now. I haven't tried calling, but its no big deal since I'm not in a hurry. They really have a good site with losts of stuff that I hadn't seen anywhere else.
