It's all about $$$$. People who spend 30+K for a new Jeep will spend the extra money for more bling more so than the typical KJ owner. That is the bottom line my friends; people here like to talk the talk, but don't want to pay the piper.

If you are looking for something to do in your spare time, RockKrawler has their "7UP' kit out for the KJ.
For aroud three grand you would get a crazy kit which include a wild subframe sectional. You would have to also order a
bunch of parts from the CJ but a guess a plus to the kit would be all the looks you would get and you could also fit 35s on your rig.

Good Call 0311_Doc. XTerra2KJ is new here, so everbody welcome he/she aboard and play nice, and don't bash him because of what you may already know about the 7UP kit.

Well i dont want to start off on the wrong foot.
I wouldn't consider this lift for my kj but i was just making a suggestion.
I saw that some members were wondering about a higher lift.
sorry if i spoke on a sore subject.

The Commander cheated, its chasis is the same as the grand, just a different body on the top side...

As for Super Lift, They told me in the Fall of '02 that this lift was 6 months out tops... well this is a longer 6 months than the 8 in Iraq!!!!

Either SH__ or get off the pot folks...

I will have a solid axle, comp cut rear end, and a 4.7 V-8 in the Lib before this lift is even tested....

Face it guys, she is just a grocerygetter to everyone but us...

I guess I am going to win the superlift race. :P I need to weld up the motor mount spacers (which I don't know if I will use), and than start installing. I have the 3.75 inch lift in it right now, and with the 295 tires its a little top heavy, so I may keep the engine and tranny low. Keep the CG lower! I will need to build a spacer for the tranny mount. Kinda defeats the purpose of the lift, but I need to drive this thing on the road.

Just to remind everyone what I am up to, I have the rear ready for a six inch lift. Most likely it will be around 5 to 5.5. This will be done with 2.5 springs and 2.5-3 inch spacers.

The front, I have fabbed up a spacer to go between the engine cradle and the unibody. That has been completed. To meet the strut requirement, I will use a spacer. I have just plain ran out of money to try to get Fabtech's new Grand coilovers (list of almost $800 for shocks!?). I also had a set of my arms with a three inch drop built. Currently they are 1 inch. I need to drill some holes and make a spacer for the tranny, and hopefuly I will have it ready for MOAB!!!!!

Al

PS I don't think I will market this. I may sell some pieces, but its too much work to build them part time.

the thing that really doesn't make any sense is that they already have a 4"
for the grand and the commander and they are both ifs. from what i heard before sf said is was issues with the frt suspension. correct me if i'm wrong but the grand and commander are ifs and probably close to the ifs on the lib. so whats the hold up???

Yeah, AND the Liberty in stock form is a better off-road machine than the Grand Cherokee or Commander. So why didn't IT get the lift first? I think these guys are just all messed up. Looks like we'll never have a lift over 2.5".

wasn't the XJ around over a decade before there was anything bigger than a 2" lift for it? Just wondering..

and if you guys think this is a pain in the butt, go buy a 1st gen Isuzu Trooper or Mitsu Montero...they've both been around for over 2 decades, and still nothing bigger than a 2" lift for either:P Not tryin to bring anybody down, but it could always be worse:)
