Mikey, just a comment on the comparison with the JK CRD. I am lucky in that I get to drive both the KJ CRD (mine) and the JK Unlimited CRD (that one is my son's). Last year we did a three week trip through Australia's Simpson Desert, and we swapped vehicles from time to time. To me there is no comparison, in comfort and fuel economy the KJ wins hand down. Often on the highway stages getting to the Desert my son would draft me to get his fuel economy up to the point of equaling mine (the JK is a bigger brick than the KJ). The JK feels heavy (probably the solid front axle) and visibility is not as good as the KJ. The KJ is also marginally quicker probably due to the gearing differences (my son's is a manual and I have the RFE545). In terms of offroad performance, a modifed KJ is better than a stock JK. Of course when you spend some money on the JK CRD it really gets better offroad. Over here a rear locker and sway bar disco can be had in an option pack for the JK and that makes a big difference. The Rubicon is not available with the diesel engine for some reason.
I want the JK CRD.. is it basically the same engine as the KJ? If I give you a few bucks can you rent a boat and sneak one over here for me?
