Hi I recently purchased a Cherokee 06 CRD limited UK spec. I am enjoying the car 50,000 miles its running great. The problem is a noise from the torque convertor area, rattles most when in reverse. A check on the underside reveals nothing loose. I am convinced its the TC. Any ideas anyone. Thanks

Welcome

If it's the UK spec then you should have the good TC and isn't likely your problem. Most people describe TC issues as a shudder when shifting between gears.

Have u done any tranny work? How about your u joints?

Might be the famous motor mount failure.

JUST NOT SO :dizzy:
The later improved TC was dubbed the "Euro" TC here because it was developed for the later more powerfull RA425 VM engine that was sold in later Export CRD's.
Europe's 05 and 06 CRD's had the same R425 engine we got in the US and it came with the same TC the US ones did

Engine mounts are probably bad. I had a host of weird sounds coming from that area, everything from a faint, odd grinding sound to a loose-change-like ratting: it was literally driving me crazy. When I swapped the two mounts and the transmission mounts, everything ceased. All in it was $350.
